Some processes need you to tell the ORIGINAL apart from copies, for example export documents, original invoices for customs, and master copies of certificates.
When it's useful
- Export and shipping documents, where the original commercial invoice must be identified.
- Triplicate invoicing. Mark "ORIGINAL FOR RECIPIENT" (a custom stamp, up to 20 characters) on the buyer's copy, and "DUPLICATE" or COPY on the others.
- Master certificates kept in a document vault.
Settings
- Blue, first page, top-right is the conventional placement.
- Add the date and a reference, such as the shipment number or certificate ID.
- Stamp the copies too, using COPY or DUPLICATE, so there's never confusion about which one counts.
