How to Stamp a PDF as DO NOT COPY
Quick answer: open Stamp My PDFs with the DO NOT COPY stamp preselected, drop in your PDF, drag the stamp into place and download. It's free to try, and the file never leaves your device.
Stamp my PDF as DO NOT COPY →
No account. Works in your browser, or offline with the desktop app.
DO NOT COPY is a deterrent for documents you're sharing on a limited basis: exam papers, unreleased designs, pricing sheets for one client, and personal ID documents.
Use it effectively
- Every page, diagonal, 30–50% opacity. It needs to survive printing and cropping.
- Personalise it. Put the recipient's name in the reference field. Named copies are far less likely to be forwarded.
- Combine with access control. A stamp discourages copying but can't technically prevent it. For high-value documents, also share through a controlled link or a password-protected PDF.
Privacy note
Since documents like these are sensitive, Stamp My PDFs never uploads them. Stamping happens locally in your browser or in the offline desktop app.
