Stamping COPY separates a duplicate from the original. It's standard for duplicate invoices, file copies of certificates, and documents you share for reference rather than for action.
Where it helps
- Duplicate invoices. If a client asks you to resend an invoice, a COPY stamp stops it being paid twice.
- Reference copies of certificates, registrations or licences shared with a vendor or bank.
- Office file copies kept alongside the signed original.
Settings that work
- Grey or blue, medium opacity. It's informational, not a warning.
- Add the purpose in the reference field, for example "For KYC – ABC Bank – 20 Oct". A copy marked with its purpose is much harder to misuse elsewhere.
- First page is usually enough for invoices. Use all pages for identity or certificate copies.
